OSHA-10

A 10-hour OSHA Outreach safety course for entry-level workers in construction or general industry.

Definition

OSHA-10 is the 10-hour course in OSHA's Outreach Training Program, taught by OSHA-authorized trainers, with separate versions for construction and general industry. It covers hazard recognition, fall protection, electrical safety, PPE and workers' rights. Completing it earns a wallet card. The course is voluntary under federal rules, but some states require it on certain jobsites, and many contractors and project owners require it for everyone on site. It is awareness training, not a license to do specialized work.
