PPE

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is gear worn to reduce exposure to hazards: hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, high-visibility vests, safety-toe boots, respirators and fall protection. OSHA generally requires employers to assess hazards, provide required PPE at no cost to workers in most cases, and train them on its use. In staffing, the agency and the client should agree in writing who supplies which items. Workers usually bring their own safety-toe boots; site-specific gear typically comes from the host site.
