Fill rate

The share of requested positions a staffing agency actually fills with a worker who shows up.

Definition

Fill rate is the percentage of requested positions that a staffing agency fills. Definitions vary, which is why it is worth asking. Some agencies count a position as filled when a worker accepts it; the number that matters to a business is how many workers actually checked in on time. Ask how fill rate is measured, whether it is tracked per client, and what happens when an order runs short. Fill rate goes hand in hand with time to fill and no-show rate.
