Definition
Responsible Vendor is Florida's voluntary program for licensed alcohol sellers (Fla. Stat. 561.701–561.706, checked October 3, 2026). To qualify, the licensee trains new servers within 30 days of hire and managers within 15 days, holds staff meetings every four months, keeps records and posts the required signs. In return, the license can't be suspended or revoked for a trained employee's sale to an underage customer unless the vendor knew or should have known, and qualification counts as mitigation in penalty cases. The program belongs to the licensee, not to a staffing agency. Agency bartenders can complete your training, but the records and the status stay with you.
